“Be the change you wish to see in the world.” ~ Mahatma Ghandi . What
a profound and self-empowering statement. Arun Gandhi, Mahatma Ghandi’s Son, was
asked within what content did Mahatma make the famous quote above. He stated the
following “Well he said this when he was speaking after prayer service and
he mentioned this because people kept saying to him that the world has to change
for us to change. He said, “No, the world will not change if we don’t change.”
So we have to make the beginning ourselves. It has always been our human nature
to blame someone else for everything that is happening. It’s never us. We are
never at fault. And he tried to make us realize that we are just as much in the
fault as anybody else. Unless we change ourselves and help people around us change,
nobody will change because then everybody will be waiting for the other person
to change.” Mahatma Ghandi got it. We must change ourselves to be more honest
people. Individual who are fiscally responsible, take the time and energy to care
for our families, our career, our friends and our neighbors. Volunteer for causes we
believe in. We are all responsible for making this world a better place. Being
an ethically responsible individual in every aspect of our lives.

When one person stands up for what is right, others listen. The others may not want to listen at the
time but their subconscious knows what is right. Hopefully next time the others
may stand up and do what is right.

How can we expect our industries to be conservative with the environment when we drive gas guzzling vehicles and throw huge amounts of trash away every day.
Companies, Non-profits and Governments are run by people,
you probably work for one. Maybe you are a clerk in a large government office
that finds a two page form which is printed over 100,000 times every day across
the country and you ask does it have to be two pages long? The information is
redundant. Can we make this process easier and reduce the form down to one page
or eliminate it? Has this process been handed down from a policy of 20 years ago?
You bring it to the attention of the right people, through the right channels
and you might just save a thousand trees, reduce the carbon output, reduce the
amount of trash in the landfills. Take some time to watch the TED 2008 presentation
by Chris Jordon. He has attempted through art to show the sheer volume of human
consumption. http://www.ted.com/talks/chris_jordan_pictures_some_shocking_stats.html
How you use your resources can change the world. If you make a positive change
and your neighbor or your coworker sees it and they change, then the domino effect
happens. You may have just changed the world unknowingly for the better. I started
The Positive Store because there is so much power in words. If you wear a necklace
that states “LOVE” that reminder is not just for you. Its for everyone
you meet that day. Say you go to the Bank and a complete stranger passes by you
and glances down at your necklace. He has had a pretty rotten day. That word registers
in his subconscious and he feels a little better through out the rest of entire
day. Which might affect the day of everyone he meets. The Positive Domino Effect.
How you think of yourself effect everyone in your life. If you have bad day that
negative energy passes right to your family and to your coworkers. Possibly affecting
everyone they meet. What a terrible cycle. Luckly it works the other way. If you
have a great day that positive energy passes to everyone you meet. A smile is
very contagious. Reminders are great to keep that positive energy going.

Be the Change you wish to see in the world! The rest of us need your positive
energy!

Here are some great reminders.
